The Oscar Wilde Society has an exciting and diverse programme of events all year round. We organise lectures, readings, and discussions about Wilde and his works, and visits to places associated with him. We also aim to highlight other events of interest which are organised by other entities.

Oscar Wilde Society Birthday Dinner
6.30 p.m. champagne and canapés reception followed by dinner at 7.15 p.m. in the Lloyd George Room
This year’s annual Birthday Dinner will be a most important event as Merlin Holland, Oscar Wilde’s grandson, will be speaking about his book After Oscar: The Legacy of a Scandal, which will have been published the day before. This eagerly awaited book charts the extraordinary afterlife of the legendary writer, thinker, wit and decadent, tracing the dramatic fluctuations in Wilde’s posthumous reputation over the past 125 years. The book will be on sale at the event and Merlin will be happy to sign copies.
The price for a three-course meal with wine will be £100. Booking closes on Friday 4 October or whenever all places have been booked. This event is filling up rapidly so don’t delay if you want to join us for an unforgettable evening! Members may bring one guest.
This event is sold out.
